Vessels planning to arrive at the port are encouraged to give as much notice as possible either direct using e-mail to pilots@falmouthport.co.uk or via their agents. Estimated times of arrival are normally required no later than 24 hours before the planned arrival time and should be confirmed using VHF radio to Falmouth Pilot Radio one hour before arrival.
Generally, pilotage is compulsory for vessels of greater than 180m in length using the outer zone of Falmouth Bay or vessels of greater than 75m in length using the Inner Bay, Carrick Roads or Falmouth Docks. Pilotage is also compulsory in all cases where vessels are carrying dangerous or polluting goods or not having local charts. For more details see pilotage information.
