COMMISSIONERS ELECT NEW CHAIRMAN

Falmouth Harbour Commissioners elected Andrew Bell as their new Chairman at their AGM last month. Mr Bell succeeds Paul Bickford whose term as chairman included the management of changes to meet the requirements of the Government’s Trust Port Review which culminated in the recent Harbour Revision Order amending the Board’s constitution.

Mr Bell who was first appointed as a commissioner in 1997 commented; “it is a great honour to be elected to chair the Commissioners. It is hard to overstate the importance to Falmouth of its Port and Harbour and I believe that the Commissioners have a vital role to play in the well being of the Town and wider area. Much has already been done to try to improve communications with our stakeholders and I am committed to continuing this process.”

The Commissioners will have their annual public meeting at 7.30pm on the 13th April in the Learning Centre at the Maritime Museum. There will be a report on the past year and a presentation of the commissioners’ plans for the future followed by an open question and answer session. Copies of the Commissioners annual Strategy Document will be available at the meeting.
