Public Consultation

The Board are committed to consulting with their stakeholders in all matters related to the operation of the Harbour. The first priority for us is to communicate effectively with both our beneficial and non-beneficial stakeholders. As well as using formal methods as required for changes in the legislative framework, we undertake to do this by a variety of informal methods. We believe that this communication is essential for the smooth running of the Harbour and the management of safety for its users.

Annual Meeting
We aim to hold an annual public meeting to report the activities of the Commissioners and to take questions.

Newsletters
We aim to issue one newsletter per quarter giving details of items of interest related to operating the Harbour.

Website
We aim to develop our website as a prime method of communication with information displayed there updated regularly.

Press Releases
We aim to issue press releases on matters of public interest as they occur.

Consultative Committee
We maintain a consultative committee which meets once per quarter. Members are drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds and with a diverse range of interests. The Consultative Committee can place items on the agenda for consideration at Commissioners meetings. Details of vacancies on the Consultative Committee will be advertised on this Site.

Marine Safety Committee
Known practitioners of particular activities in the Harbour have been invited to become consultant members of the marine safety committee. This committee, which meets every two months has been set up to consider safety matters across the jurisdictions of Falmouth Harbour Commissioners, Carrick District Council and A & P Falmouth Ltd. Vacancies for consultant members are advertised on this Site.
